Our Dos Aguas blend represents the “two waters” that surround our vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island. To the south of our vines lies The Great Peconic Bay and to the north, the Long Island Sound. These two bodies of water create a unique climate that protects our vineyard and encourages a slow, steady ripening. "Entre Dos Aguas" is also one of Alexandra Macari’s favorite flamenco songs by Spanish flamenco guitarist, Paco de Lucia.
Our 2010 Dos Aguas is a blend of 81% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc. The wine boasts pungent red and black fruits and a powerful, deeply scented bouquet of briarwood and leather. Firm tannins will allow this wine to continue to age gracefully. 100% estate fruit from the Macari family farm in Mattituck.
"...and at age 5, the Dos Aguas is showing really well, with a complex mixture of plummy fruit, earth tones, and grilled meat that really brings to mind Old World classics. Delicious now with anything from chicken to steak, this will surely continue to improve with age." — Flatiron Wines & Spirits, NYC
"This is a pleasing Bordeaux blend that has freshness, some complexity and a serious feel to it. It retains its balance all the while. If someone told me in a blind tasting that this was a Cru Bourgeois, I wouldn't be all that surprised." — Mark Squires, The Wine Advocate
