We are thrilled for the second release of our Sparkling Cabernet Franc!
Why HORSES? Legend has it that the bluffs at the edge of Macari Vineyards are shaped like a horses head. Locals tell tales of the “Horsehead Bluffs”. Also, the Macari family also has two horses that, along with a herd of cows, contribute to their vineyard’s composting program. And, yes, the wine is also a secret tribute to the Patti Smith album, “HORSES”.
Harvested on 9/26/15, “single vineyard” from the Macari Cutchogue Cabernet Franc block. Whole cluster pressed, stainless steel fermented, second fermentation in bottle — traditional method, released undisgorged.
"An absolute pleasure to drink." — Lenn Thompson, The Cork Report/Northforker.com
